The electrifiction of railway lines between Wigan and Bolton.
RJP has supported Kier Transportation (previously Buckingham Group) and Network Rail since May 2022 on consenting requirements for the Wigan to Bolton electrification project. The team worked collaboratively with sponsorship, engineering, programme management teams and councils to address challenges and deliver the necessary planning and highways approvals on time for this fast moving programme of works. A highlight of the project is gaining listed building consent for works to Deep Pit footbridge in 2024.
RJP provided continuity for the project team throughout, identifying and addressing risks at the earliest opportunities. We delivered approvals, on time, for all eight bridge reconstructions, including public right of way closures and diversions.
